I wonder how many dog andCat Owners , when they are planning on going away for a period of time, ever think about having professional pet sitters to look after their animals. The answer may well be “not many” but why not? Surely if your pet is house trained, well settled in their environment then why not consider our  pet sitting service. Let me explain a little about how it works.

The obvious choice, barring friends or relatives coming to the rescue, is to put your animal in professional boarding accommodation for the duration of your holiday. We are not saying that there is anything wrong with this but it does not suite all animals. Simply put, we would suggest that there is a better alternative. Like humans, animals get used to where they are and a daily routine and can react adversely if all of that changes, even if it is only for a few days or a week or two. So, why not let us step in and give a kind of temporary fostering service in your own home, not ours.

“”Over the Summer, Derek house sat for us and looked after our two dogs for two weeks. He was a complete star. He kept us informed every day of walks, medicines, food habits with text, photos even phone calls abroad. The dogs really warmed to him and it was great to be able to enjoy our holiday knowing that the dogs were well looked after. Derek was entirely trustworthy, resourceful and very willing to help. He even watered the plants.- Mark, Judith, Sooty and Nelly”

It really can work to everyone’s benefit with the welfare of your pet being the most important factor. After all, they get to sleep in their own bed and eat their usual brand and amount of food. It’s just the hand that feeds them that is different but we don’t think they will mind that too much, provided we turn up on time! This last point is important – in the interests of keeping a relatively normal routine going for your pet we will fit in with THEIR schedule wherever possible. We will visit in the morning to let them out for the essential bit of exercise and again during the day if required. We will also stay overnight with them if required to ensure that all of your pet’s needs will have been taken care of.

So, a few facts to sum up

  • We will only feed and water them to your specifications
  • We can administrate medications if required
  • We will take your dog out for a short walk in the local area IF you want us to do so
  • The possible stress of travelling to kennels or catteries plus any health risks involved in their stay are eliminated

Another thing to consider is your home security. Having us visit on a daily basis  or stay over will give you some peace of mind regarding the house itself – it will look as though you are in and we can open and close curtains and turn lights on and off. We will even water your house plants! Sounds like a good solution to us – we are sure that you will agree.
