A house sit may be possible in an area that is too far away for a regular weekday dog walk.

Two homes within the same postcode can also have very different journey times.

All dog walks start and finish at your dog’s home.

I do not:

• Collect several dogs in a van
• Drive dogs to a central park
• Carry out long collection rounds
• Mix dogs from unrelated households

• Expect every dog to follow the same route

Working locally on foot means your dog can begin their walk in a familiar environment.

It also means that my walking area must remain practical.

For some nervous dogs, a short familiar street walk is more useful than travelling towards a busy open space.

Extreme weather and local coverage

Weather may change what can safely be provided.

During hot, icy, stormy or otherwise unsafe conditions, I may:

• Change the route
• Move the visit time where possible
• Shorten the outdoor portion

• Replace a walk with a comfort visit
• Provide toileting and calm indoor enrichment
• Decline an unsafe journey or outdoor activity

A journey that is normally practical may become unsafe during severe weather or transport disruption.
