A “Weekend Big Adventure” consists of a two hour walk visiting Totteridge Fields or Hampstead Heath for example. Your dog will enjoy all the aspects of my normal weekly walks but to the extreme.

Arthur and Rufus enjoyed a “Weekend Big Adventure” recently.

This walk started  at Lovers walk N3 ( it  runs between the locksmith and the hair shop at Finchley central opposite Long Lane N3) https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Lovers+Walk,+London+N3+1AJ,+UK/@51.6087694,-0.1973355,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x487617507d55f973:0x123bba79231324a7?sa=X&ei=qiwfVPDaMNDd7QauxYHICw&ved=0CCIQ8gEwAA)

20140922_172502_resized_1-225x300 Weekend Big AdventuresWe followed Lovers walk down to the Brook. Once at the Brook we crossed over the bridge and continued straight up through Finchley Golf Course to Frith Lane.

We turned right at Frith Lane and continued towards North Finchley  (past the new housing estate) and turned right in to Partingdale Lane. At the top of the road we looked out for the width restriction in the road and took the Bridleway which is marked “Burtonhole Lane”

After following this bridlepath for a while we came across a stile

Rufus and Arthur coped well with the stile and we then headed left. (This  stile formed part of our previous walk around Totteridge fields- If you cross  over the stile and turn right this will take you back towards Finchley)

The boys enjoyed rambling through the fields heading to Southover.  At Southover we crossed over the road and entered the gates on the other side and that took us to Dollis Green Valley.  We kept walking at a nice steady pace ( both dogs wear harnesses for their comfort)

At the end and we crossed over the road and in to Riverside Walk heading towards Finchley Central.

photo-2-300x225 Weekend Big AdventuresFollowing the brook we eventually had to cross over Furbsy  Road. This took us back to the bridge that we crossed over at the start of the walk, turned right  and we were back in Lovers Walk!

Two tired and happy dogs and one weary Finchley Dog Walker – where will our next adventure be….?
