Easter is a Christian festival celebrated by the Christian community across the world. On this day, Christians celebrate the resurrection of their Lord Jesus.

Christians worldwide strongly believe that Jesus was the son of God, ancepted death for everyone’s evil deeds, and was revived to life exactly three days after his death. They celebrate this special occasion as a new beginning.

As part of this festival, people have fun times with their families. Chocolates are used as Easter giveaways, while people also present eggs as a symbol of new commencement.

While your family is celebrating this event, you must also care for your cats and dogs. Make sure they stay happy and healthy with a few of the following precautionary measures.

Easter Lilly and Dogs

Flowers, especially lilies, are an important part of the Easter celebration. They symbolise purity, virtue, innocence, hope and life. All these values signify a spiritual sense of Easter. People use flowers to demonstrate love and gratitude.

However, it should be acknowledged that there are some spring plants that are not pet-friendly and may cause serious medical issues. One of these flowers is a lily. Lilies and plants related to this family are highly toxic for cats and dogs. If your dog swallows its bulbs, it might lead to vomiting and exhaustion. If untreated timely, it may result in renal failure and death.

This is because the plastic in this artificial grass is non-digestible. It can stick in the intestines leading to intestinal blockages. It is also possible for your dog to ingest other decorative materials like ribbons, bows and streamers, and even ribbons and bows can tie around their neck. Be very careful and keep your Easter basket away from your dog. If you suspect that your dog has ingested something harmful, immediately contact your veterinarian.
